Commissioned by the Gold Coast City Council for the All Abilities Playground at Kurrawa Pratten Park, Broadbeach
Paint and handmade ceramics
The design of this sculptural mural was inspired by sketches created by the children of Mudgeeraba Special School. The sketches were created during a series of workshops run by Suzi Lucas. Suzi assembled the kid’s sketches to form the bold line design. Ceramic tiles the children created during the workshops were incorporated into the large sculptural mosaic components of the mural. The playful design and bright colour of the mural attracts kids to the park, and the work helps deter graffiti.
